Second Life Movie Poster Challenge Part 2

Trixie's Body

Berry has brought back her SL Movie Poster Challenge! I am a major scare-dy cat in real life when it comes to horror movies but I’m also totally in love with Megan Fox so decided to base my movie poster off of Jennifer’s BodyThis is unfortunately going to be a very short post as I was in a pretty bad hit and run a couple days ago and am currently dealing with the whiplash and aftermath of it all. SL Yearbook 2016

Miss Berry has brought back her Second Life Yearbook Challenge to celebrate her 9th Rez Day. And this time asking us to write when we blinked into SL existence on our photo. I first found out about SL through an online game called Evony. I was very lucky when I first joined that I already had someone inworld to sort of show me the ropes and gave me a couple thousand linden to play dress up with. It was also that first week that I met my first SL bestie who took me to get a nicer skin, shape and hair at Redgrave and Damselfly. Just for kicks, this was my first ever head shot. I was so tan! LOL

Never Have I Ever

Strawberry Singh is back with more Monday memes which makes me very happy. And I decided to do another inspiration picture based off the photo below.

  1. Never have I ever had sex, in Second Life. – Yes, a few times. But mostly just for shits and giggles.
  2. Never have I ever visited a sex sim, in Second Life. – Yes, tons. Whenever I’m bored I like to teleport around and meet people. And usually sex sims are filled to the brim with people to talk to.
  3. Never have I ever been an escort or stripper, in Second Life. – Have. My first SL “job” was a stripper.
  4. Never have I ever been in porn videos in Second Life. – Have never, that I know of.
  5. Never have I ever done things that may be illegal in the real world, in Second Life. – Have. Drugs, weapons, etc.
  6. Never have I ever created an ALT for secret activities, in Second Life. – I have made alts but not for secret activities.
  7. Never have I ever had a one night stand, in Second Life. – I have. But just like in real life, I don’t remember them very well.
  8. Never have I ever been part of a roleplay community, in Second Life. – I have. Back when True Blood was still on the air there was a Bon Temps RP community and I was a dancer at Fangtasia.
  9. Never have I ever discovered a new fetish, because of Second Life. – I’m sure I have.
  10. Never have I ever done things in Second Life that I wouldn’t admit to my friends or family. – I have. But I’m pretty open about my SL existence with them even if they don’t understand it.

A Look Back at 2015

Look Back

With a brand new year just about to start I wanted to take a look back at my favorite posts of 2015. Although I feel like I have come such a long way in just a year, I know I could do so much better. Especially where it concerns writing. Even if it’s just a simple paragraph I want to try harder this year to at least come up with a few sentences to accompany each blog post.

There were and are so many amazing people that helped me along the way and I wanted to give a quick shout-out to them. First, Caitlin Tobias for teaching me so much about social marketing, advertising and being a general bad ass. The SLBloggerSupport Group for always being willing to help out a fellow blogger whether it be finding the perfect spot for photos or trying desperately to figure out where a certain hair/clothing/pose came from. My best friend Anny for always being there through the tough times and always willing to jump in a photo with me no matter what. And last but not least my sissy Nasima, for being the family that I’ve always wanted but didn’t have in RL.

I picked the photos above not just because I thought they came out well but also some of the stories behind them whether I was trying something new or I was trying to let out my feelings about what was going on around me.

January: Save The Last Dance I picked this one for two reasons. It was my 400th post and because it was really the beginning of my love affair with fantasy.

February: What Is This? This was actually my second time entering a photo contest and second time actually winning a photo contest. Starting me on a whole new obsession.

March: On My Way Second Life’s very own Hogwarts! I’m a huge Potter Fan (I just took my second trip back to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter) and was blown away by this magical sim.

April: The Magician A dream of mine had come true! I was an official blogger for The Fantasy Faire.

May: Men & Mascara I was going through a pretty crappy time not only in RL but in SL as well. My boyfriend and I were going through a really bad rough patch (we worked it out) and I had lost someone in SL who I thought was a friend.

June: Nightmare Because friends!

July: What you gonna do with all that trunk? I usually never change my skin or shape. So this was new to me and I loved the way it turned out. I’m glad I took the chance because I don’t think this picture would have looked better had I not.

August: Absolution Another new one for me! I had never done a “dark” or “creepy” photo before. But those wings! I still had to put my own style on it though with the gorgeous snowy background behind me.

September: Gen-Neutral Again another look that I had never tackled before. Being androgynous is not something anyone would ever think about me in RL. I very obviously have large breasts and curves, I’m pretty “girly” about my clothing choices and although I identify as bisexual I lean more towards male partners. So to have the opportunity in SL to discover this new side to me was amazing.

October: The Cursed Doll I had until that post mainly been taking photos out on the grid. I’ve always loved exploring Second Life and basing my posts on what was around me. But I felt the need to at least try and be more creative and upping my own decorating skills instead of relying on others.

November: Dream Lover Two reasons. I had finally (finally!) broken down and bought a mesh head and this photo was why. I had been wanting for so long to have a gorgeous closed eye look. And the second reason, my boyfriend was behind me the whole time with input about how the picture should look. He had finally changed his tune from “I don’t even understand SL” to “This is pretty fucking cool.”

December: My Guy My first solo male post. He had always been my arm candy, but I finally made him center of attention. I hope to be doing more men’s fashion posts in the future and bringing even more attention to all the fabulous male designers in Second Life.

Well, that’s that for 2015. I hope ya’lls was as wonderful and meaningful as mine was to me. And I hope that my other fellow comrades in blogging take this and run with it as well. If you do, please post your links below! Or post your collages in the flickr group.

First & Recent Challenge

I’m so excited Miss Berry has used my idea for her newest blogger challenge! The goal is to compare and/or recreate your first blog photo (or flickr photo if you don’t have a blog) to your most newest. Also answer how you think you have improved as a photographer/blogger. Here is the link to my first post ever. The original idea behind creating my blog was to show off items I got from hunts ergo Hunting With Trixie. I realized pretty early on that I didn’t like a lot of the hunt prizes lol so instead just blogged about what I thought was pretty. My first post coincided with one of the first rounds of Collabor88 (C88 started in Aug ’11, my first post was Oct ’11.)

Obviously I knew nothing (NOTHING!) of graphics, antialiasing, or windlights. And I didn’t for monthes and monthes… and monthes. I was regularly in photoshop blurring off those horrible jagged lines.

For my recreated photo I went again with my lingerie and awkward laying pose. Although I still have a lot to learn I am definitely happy that my photo taking skills have gotten better. I even just got 3rd place is a photo contest for NanTra! I wanted to say a big thank you to Ms. Singh for picking the idea and thank you to all who have participated! I can’t wait to see everyone’s photos on Flickr!

Have you ever.. Avatar Transformation Challenge

I’ve been severely lacking lately on the Monday Meme so wanted to do a quick catch-up after Berry’s latest challenge caught my eye. Her Avatar Transformation challenge was absolutely amazing and quite, well, challenging to say the least. It took me awhile to figure out the shape (i didn’t like the one that came with the head) and obviously wearing Slink feet was a bad idea but I’m not worried about it enough to go back and try to change anything right now. I also decided to do Berry’s Have You Ever Meme seeing as how I love being asked random questions.

*style credits below*

Second Life Sartorialist Challenge

I’m so glad Miss Singh has brought back her wonderful memes and challenges this year. They are one of the few things I look forward to that actually take me out of my comfort zone of just snapping a photo and listing credits. This week she’s having us *gasp* actually leaving our platforms and going out on the grid in search of someone we think looks interesting. I hopped around a while going infohubs, massively greendotted sims until I finally landed at Demonic Night Club. Miss DarkEvoStar was the first person I saw and immediately fell in love with her outfit. After perusing her profile I learned that she is also a very talented blogger which made going up to her and asking if I could take her picture a little bit easier. She was very friendly and sweet and ya’ll should all check out her blog here. You can also check out Berry’s challenge here.

Evelyn Hartshon has a new blogger challenge for us! Just head over to BloggingSecondLife, look through their lists of stores and find one new to you. Pick something from their store and take a picture. You don’t even have to have a blog, just post your pictures on the challenge’s flickr page here. I went scrolling through the roleplay stores and although I found quite a few I liked, they were a bit out of my price range. Until I stumbled upon Severed Garden. I kinda remember them but don’t think I’ve ever bought anything from them. Possibly because it wasn’t until recently I really got into alternative/fantasy clothing. All their stuff is really cute and punky. You can check them out here on MP and here inworld.
