#WhenIWas

I usually don’t follow much on Twitter but recently there has been a major trend with the hashtag #WhenIWas and it really resonated with me. And it made me think back on all my experiences growing up as a female. For the most part girls are brought up being told (or conditioned) that our goal in life is to find a husband and get married. And this involves heavily on us being attractive to the opposite sex and acting a certain way to attract a male even to the point of “fishing” for compliments and dumbing ourselves down. As young girls we are told to say “thank you” and smile for strange men who give us compliments on the way we look. Regardless if it makes us feel uncomfortable or not. Why is this okay? And why is this still going on today? Case in point, I’m almost 32 years old and my mother still tells me to look “decent” in public and that I need to find a man to take care of me, one who preferably likes big girls as she likes to point out. Clearly, I’m fucking over it. So here’s my list, because really what girl only has just one instance of harassment? These are only just a few of the big ones that really kind of shaped me as a woman.

#WhenIWas 8 years old I was sexually molested by my Aunt’s second husband. I didn’t tell anybody until I was 18.

#WhenIWas 12 years old a male teacher used his laser pointer to point to mine and other girls breasts and butts. He never got in trouble even when I did go to the Vice Principle.

#WhenIWas 17 years old a neighbor of my parents who was also a policeman at the time grabbed my hand and tried to put it down his pants. I did tell my parents but they were afraid of retaliation so until he moved whenever I walked outside to my car my dad would follow me.

Sit Still Look Pretty

It’s been a little over a week since I’ve done a post. I have no real excuses other than this month has just been one shit show after another. One week was a sinus infection, next week my molar broke, the week after that said tooth got pulled. So needless to say I’ve been on quite a few medications along with my regular dailies I have to take. Most of my time has been spent either sleeping or working at my real life job trying to build my hours back up. So for me the best way to relax has been bubble baths accompanied by mud masks and/or hair conditioning treatments. Thank god for BirchBox and Ipsy where I pretty much get all my amazing beauty products from. They have been a life saver. So on that note I really wanted to show off this really cool product from AMA that came out awhile ago. The lotion masks come in 4 different textures and are mesh. They did take a bit of time for me to actually position correctly on my face, but I can be a bit of a perfectionist and I’m actually kinda noobish when it comes to editing.

On another note, I had some major issues trying to find a static pose to work with this tub. Thankfully a good friend of mine Nancoix (of NanTra Poses) came to my rescue and took a break from her own work to help me. She even went through her texture folder to make these bubbles to cover my lovely lady lumps (haha.) So huge thank you to such a wonderful woman and fabulous pose maker.

Wild Things

Bodyfy is a brand new monthly event to the grid all about piercings, tattoos and other various body modifications. I usually keep my style pretty simple and classic but every now and then I love experimenting with different looks and I fell in love with so many offerings at the event that I just couldn’t help myself. AMA has released these amazing rose nipple covers especially for it that come with different metal options for each color and are super easy to edit over your nibbly bits. This round ends April 29th so make sure to head over before these deals are gone.

The Tower

I’m still playing around with all my goodies from The Gacha Guardians. I honestly can’t help it, I’m just loving everything I won. This time I wanted to show off this adorable collection by Pillows called Locked Away. I was lucky enough to get the rare Tower on my first pull. I really wish I could show it off better but I just don’t have the landscaping abilities to do it right now. But I did set it up on my platform to place all the furniture and decor in it.

In The Army Now

I was very sad when the owner of Tag! Gacha decided to close the doors so to speak (the Gachatopia sim is still open) on one of my favorite events. Which is why I was super happy to see that BellaGacha (of The Gacha Gardens) has decided to pick up the torch and run with it with The Gacha Guardians. Some things stayed the same, some changed. There’s still a HUD and a bonus room. However now you don’t have to win a ticket or worry about mystery rares, but rather just play 10 times to get a key for the chest in the bonus room. And I have to say I really like that there was no set theme, so practically every designer had a completely different set from one another. I’m really hoping this event flourishes and thrives not just for the wonderful creators but for us shoppers to have something a bit different and more rewarding.

Game Night

It’s game night over at the Cliassi residence thanks to NanTra‘s newest release Tangler for The Gacha Guardians, a brand new gacha event that starts today! The mat itself is just a prop to be used with the individual poses and the spinner does come with it’s own pose but I decided to just use it as a prop for my photo.
